Victim of a crime
Ohio has created a fund that helps certain victims of crime to be compensated for certain expenses related to the crime that disrupted their lives. If you are a victim of a violent crime, a dependent of someone who was killed in a homicide, or you are responsible for the expenses of a victim (such as a parent who must pay for a funeral of a child who was killed in a crime), you may be able to claim funds to help you recover.
The fund allows for certain expenses such as counseling, medical bills, lost wages, crime scene cleanup, replacing items that were taken as evidence, funeral expenses, etc.
As part of the compensation program, you will not pay any attorneys fees for filing an application. My fees are paid for by the compensation fund, and there is no cost to you to file.
